Frequently Asked Questions

Q What do I need to sell books?

A Due to revisions to the Secondhand Articles Dealer Act, identity verification is now required regardless of the purchase amount. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please have a form of identification (such as a driver's license) ready when selling books. For customers under 18 years of age, a guardian's consent form is also required.

Q Besides books, what other items can I sell?

A We also handle CDs, DVDs, records, merchandise, antique sundries, antique figures, antique toys, antiques, and other highly specialized items. Please click the button below to view details on each genre page.

Q Can I choose not to sell if I am not satisfied with the appraisal price?

A Of course. If you are not satisfied with the appraisal price offered, there is no problem if you choose not to sell. In that case, we will not charge any fees such as travel expenses or appraisal fees, so please feel free to use our service.

Q What kind of books are highly valued?

A This is a very difficult question, but to answer it simply, the value of a book increases and becomes high when two factors combine: "rarity, meaning it is not widely circulated," and "many people are seeking that book."
I can provide more information on this, so please feel free to ask many questions during the on-site appraisal or over the phone if you would like to know more. I will answer everything I know.

Q Can you buy books that do not have a barcode or ISBN code?

A Yes, we will appraise and buy old books, paper materials, and documents.

Q Do you also buy CDs, DVDs, and BDs?

A Yes, that's fine. We can purchase items that are not books, so please feel free to ask various questions.

Q How are payments made?

A Payments will be made in cash or by bank transfer.

Q Who will come for the on-site purchase?

A All purchase transactions are handled by me, the owner.
I currently run a used bookstore in Higashi-Koganei while studying at the Kanda Used Book Association market. I am not a person who can boast much, but I will do my best with sincerity, so please bear with me.
Also, for women who may feel uneasy, it is possible for our female staff to accompany me on the visit, so please inform us when you call.

Q How many books do I need to sell? Please also tell me the areas you cover for purchases.

A For on-site used book purchases, we visit "Tokyo" for 100 books or more, and "Saitama Prefecture," "Chiba Prefecture," and "Kanagawa Prefecture" for 200 books or more.
For those in nearby areas or depending on the content, we may be able to visit even if you have fewer than 100 books, so please feel free to call us anytime. For those in distant areas, even with 100 books or more, we may need to decline if it is difficult to purchase based on photos you send. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Q Can you come for on-site used book purchases at companies, universities, libraries, etc.?

A Yes, we can do on-site purchases.
Please note that if there are books for lending, management numbers, or management stamps, the purchase price may decrease, or a certificate of removal from library may be required. Thank you for your understanding in advance.

Q How should I pack the books for shipping?

A Please pack them in cardboard boxes of appropriate size for shipping. Also, please make sure they are waterproofed, for example, by covering them with plastic, as the books may deform and lose value if they get wet from rain or other water during transit to the store.

Q How long does the appraisal process take for mail-in purchases?

A It takes a minimum of the same day and usually 2-3 business days after the arrival of the package. If we are busy, it may take about a week.
