How to Purchase and Shipping Information
Toyo Books sells academic books and rare books to customers
in Japan and overseas.
Please find information below on how to place an order, payment, and shipping.
Orders from Within Japan
Customers in Japan can purchase items directly from the product page, just like in any online store.
Select an Item
Select the item you want and click "Add to Cart".
Proceed to Checkout
Review the contents of your cart and proceed to checkout.
Enter Shipping and Payment Information
Enter your shipping information and payment method, then confirm your order.
Order Confirmation and Shipping
You will receive a confirmation email after placing your order. We will ship your order within 3 business days after confirming payment.
Payment Methods
Credit cards and PayPal are accepted. Please check the available payment methods at checkout.
Shipping
We will ship your order within 3 business days after confirming payment. If your shipping method includes tracking, we will provide the tracking number by email after shipping.
Orders from Overseas
We accept orders from customers overseas. International shipping costs vary depending on the destination and the weight of the books, so we will provide a quote before you purchase.
Inquire About Your Desired Books
Please email us the product name or product page URL, the number of copies you want, and the country or region of the shipping destination.
Shipping Quote
We will check the inventory and shipping conditions and email you a quote that includes the product price and international shipping cost.
Payment
Once you agree to the quote, we will email you a link to the Shopify checkout page. Please review the details and complete your payment.
Packaging and International Shipping
We will pack and ship the books after confirming payment. If tracking is available, we will provide the tracking number by email after shipping.
Bulk Orders of Multiple Books
We accept orders for multiple books. We will pack them together as much as possible and provide a quote for the international shipping cost. Depending on the weight and shipping conditions, we may ship the order in multiple packages.
Customs Duties and Import Taxes
Depending on the destination country or region, customs duties, value added tax (VAT), customs clearance fees, and other charges may apply. Unless otherwise stated, these charges are the responsibility of the customer.

Rare Books and Used Books
We mainly carry academic books, rare books, and used books. They may show signs of wear such as yellowing, stains, damage, and writing.
